Detecting digital steganography
Different file types lead to different schemes
Files are in a language with characteristics
Analyze the characteristics of:
- the file
- information content, unexpected ‘syntax’
- the steganographic technique
- how do they detect it for decoding
Example:
- a bitmapped image of a face tends to have certain characteristics - if those are altered it is likely detectable
